As mental health challenges continue to affect individuals and families across Metro Detroit, Oakland Family Services is stepping up to meet the growing need for accessible, comprehensive care. In response to an increasing demand for mental health and substance use disorder treatment, Oakland Family Services has opened a new office in Royal Oak, Michigan - just a short move from the previous location in Berkley.

The new office, located at 26862 Woodward Ave., Suite 103, offers a more central and accessible location for community members seeking support. With a focus on providing a welcoming, fully ADA-compliant environment, the 2,853-square-foot space is conveniently located along a bus line, making it easier for individuals from all walks of life to access the vital mental health services they need.

Expanding Access to Care in a Time of Crisis

The decision to move to Royal Oak comes at a time when access to mental health services has never been more urgent. From the ongoing impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic to economic uncertainties and rising stress levels, the need for mental health support in the community has surged. The shortage of therapists, particularly in Metro Detroit, has made it even more difficult for those in need to find care.

To address this, Oakland Family Services has expanded its team of therapists and is now accepting new clients. The Royal Oak office is home to a growing team of professionals, including eight Day One therapists and nine staff members dedicated to Specialized Services for Youth.

Tailored Mental Health Support for All Ages

Oakland Family Services offers a range of services designed to support individuals and families facing mental health challenges. The Day One program provides therapy for individuals ages 4 and up, while the Specialized Services for Youth program focuses on children and adolescents, ages 0-21, dealing with severe emotional, behavioral, or psychological issues. This program also extends support to their families, ensuring a comprehensive approach to healing.
