Understanding Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs)

  • Ascension of Christ Lutheran Church 16935 West 14 Mile Road Beverly Hills, MI, 48025 United States (map)

In the past couple of decades, there has been an explosion of new understanding – beginning with the Adverse Childhood Experience, or “ACE” Study – about how and why adversity and trauma can reliably predict risks for mental, physical and behavioral health as well as productivity in the population. This is great news! What’s predictable is preventable – because of recent discoveries in neuroscience, epigenetics, epidemiology and resilience studies, we can understand how protection, prevention and resilience promotion can profoundly improve health, safety and productivity, and reduce public and private costs now and for generations to come.

Childcare providers can register at miregistry, a statewide data system for professionals, trainers, and organizations to verify and track employment, training, and educational accomplishments.
