Day One Programs
-
Mental Health Treatment
Licensed mental health professionals help clients through individual counseling, group counseling, and psychiatric services. We treat mild to moderate mental health disorders, including but not limited to depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder. We can help with trauma due to verbal, physical, sexual, or emotional abuse, domestic violence, bullying, or the death of a loved one.
-
Substance Use Disorder Treatment
At Day One, we offer a variety of outpatient and intensive outpatient treatment services for substance use disorders—group therapy, individual therapy, psychiatric services, family sessions, peer recovery coaches, and drug screenings. Clients are educated on substance use disorders, the cycle of addiction, relapse, and coping skills.
-
Adolescent Substance Use Disorder Treatment
Through this special program, Day One provides quality, individualized treatment to adolescents misusing alcohol and drugs to help them achieve and maintain recovery. Services offered include group and individual therapy, drug screens, connection to 12-step programs, mood management groups, and an 8-week family educational series.
-
Project Recovery Intensive Services for Mothers (PRISM)
This program helps parenting and pregnant women overcome substance misuse with a combination of one-on-one therapy, group counseling, and case management. We offer onsite childcare and transportation to and from services at no cost to you, making it easier for you to maintain consistent treatment. Parenting and pregnant women are a priority admission for treatment services.
Why Day One is a leading provider of behavioral health services:
-
Day One has three locations throughout Oakland County and offers both in-person and virtual appointments, so you can see a therapist in office or from the comfort of your home.
-
Masters-prepared therapists with training in both mental health and substance use disorders provide treatment for clients who present with anything from depression to opioid use to a history of trauma. Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC) certification is a necessity for staff.
-
At Day One, we understand that you may have been through something traumatic. At the heart of our work is a focus on being trauma-informed — to make all offices and interactions feel safe and comfortable for you.
-
With your permission, we can coordinate with your doctor or other referring professionals, such as parole officers or juvenile drug court officials. In addition, as a Day One client, you, your children, or your family members have access to Oakland Family Services’ continuum of support services beyond your therapy. Outside of the agency, Day One also partners with medication-assisted treatment programs and can help you access community supports and resources, like Alcoholics Anonymous, housing, food, job assistance and more. In addition, our Pontiac location houses a medical clinic, providing quick access if you are having other health issues.
-
Day One meets you where you are, providing you with a personalized treatment plan. Whether you need short-term help or long-term support, we can assist.
-
Day One accepts most commercial insurance plans, Medicare, and most Medicaid and Healthy MI plans. A sliding fee scale is available for those who may not have health insurance.
