“Our Children’s Learning Centers provide a warm and inviting school experience that uses a play-based curriculum to support a child’s learning and development,” said Kris Kasperski, director of Early Childhood Services at Oakland Family Services. “The HighScope curriculum helps children get ready to succeed in kindergarten both academically and socially. Parents and family members are always welcome and are encouraged to be a part of their children’s learning through volunteering in the classroom, attending special events and taking part of different workshops.”

The preschool in Walled Lake, which opened in 2015, houses 96 preschoolers with six classrooms. During the course of the 2018-2019 school year, the Children’s Learning Center in Pontiac served 104 children —64 children in the GSRP program as well as 40 children in tuition-based 3-year-old classrooms and 9 in a tuition-based toddler classroom.

Oakland Family Services’ preschool program runs Monday through Thursday with affordable options available for before, after and Friday care. Priority for open spots in the GSRP program is given to children who turn 4 by Sept. 1, but available spots may be available for children who turn 4 by Dec. 1.  Families must meet certain income requirements. Both locations provide breakfast, lunch and a snack.

Enroll at one of Oakland Family Services' centers and watch your child thrive!
