Oakland Family Services shows support during Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week

Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week is a time to shine a spotlight on the importance of caring for every child’s mental health and reinforce that positive mental health is essential to a child’s healthy development.

Each year, staff across all three Oakland Family Services locations work together to show support. The theme for 2023 is “Stronger Together” – a reminder that no child should have to face their problems alone. Parents, family members, educators, and mental health professionals all play a role in identifying children’s mental illness and providing them with the support they need.

Our Specialized Services for Youth and Day One programs provide children and families with the proper tools for a healthy future.

The staff at all three of our locations demonstrated the theme of “stronger together” with decorations, t-shirts, and lanyards.
