2023 Fun Run Results: Race Times, Smiling Faces, and Brighter Futures

Our third annual Building Brighter Futures Fun Run took place on July 29th, 2023 at Waterford Oaks County Park. A bit of rain in the morning didn’t stop 96 participants from arriving ready to race and show their support for Oakland Family Services.

The 1K began at 8:45am and included runners and walkers of all ages. By the time the 5K commenced, the sun came out and brightened everyone’s Saturday.

The overall winner of the 5K race was Reuben Jiran, who finished with a time of 22:27.3. View the complete race results for each age category by clicking below.

We’d like to thank the participants, vendors, and volunteers who attended the Fun Run and contributed to its success. In addition to the 1K and 5K races managed by Eastside Racing Company, guests enjoyed a warm up with Jess from Pushna Wellness, music, face painting by KJ Art, a petting farm provided by Carousel Acres, the playground, and treats from Kona Ice of Berkley. We would also like to thank our event sponsors, Penske Automotive and Sentinel Group.

The proceeds from the Fun Run support Oakland Family Services’ continuum of prevention, education, and treatment services that span the human life cycle, enrich the lives of children, strengthen families, and rebuild lives. Contributions from the community help us work towards our mission of building brighter futures for individuals and families in Southeast Michigan.
