Since 1921, Oakland Family Services has built brighter futures for individuals and families throughout our community. Your generous gift to our agency will support prevention of childhood abuse and neglect, build a foundation for lifelong education and provide treatment services for those experiencing anxiety, depression, struggling with grief and loss, substance misuse or other mental health concerns.

Our work touches the lives of over 40,000 people every year. With your help, we can continue to provide tools that will improve lives for generations to come. Since October 2022, we have made significant strides to improve quality of life for members of our community, including the following.

• In Prevention: 100% of adoptions completed so far in FY23 have occurred less than 24 months since OFS received the referral, with zero disrupted adoptions this year.

• In Education: Children enrolled at the Children’s Learning Centers achieved at – or above-benchmark improvements in scores across early learning skills, self-regulation, social-emotional development, and physical well-being and motor development. These successes support children in staying on track to enter kindergarten healthy and ready to learn.

• In Treatment: The majority of individuals in Day One who successfully exited the program experienced a decrease in symptoms of anxiety, and more than 83% experienced a decrease in symptoms of depression.
