Infant & Early Childhood Mental Health
An infant, toddler, or young child’s mental health is every part as important as their physical health.

This program is a voluntary model delivered by clinically trained, master's level professionals who provide home and community visits to eligible pregnant women and families with infants or young children.
Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health services include:
Home-based or community-based weekly visits
Educational support in understanding the developmental needs of your infant or young child
Community support and connections to resources
Encouragement and guidance on interacting with your child
Guidance in times of crisis

Individuals with Medicaid
Parents with a child between ages 0-6 years old
Pregnant women
Infants experiencing low birth weight, eating, sleeping difficulties, delays in developmental milestones, and failure to thrive
Infants, toddlers, and young children with emotional or behavioral difficulties
Families that have experienced separation, chronic stress, trauma, or loss
Parents struggling with mental health concerns

Families and caregivers will:
Form stronger, more adaptive, and resilient family relationships
Enhance their ability to identify feelings; learn how to understand reactions, defenses, and coping strategies; develop healthier patterns of interaction
Learn how important trusting relationships are for youth
Identify and find support for trauma history and resilience
Create positive relationships within the community
Express hope for the future
Children will:
Develop healthy social and emotional behaviors
Improve in meeting anticipated developmental milestones
Pregnant mothers will:
Develop a secure attachment to their new infant and see improved relationships with their other children
