Open House provides an up-close look at Oakland Family Services' prevention, education, and treatment programs
Are you interested in learning more about Oakland Family Services’ prevention, education, and treatment programs? Are you curious to see where it all happens?
Come join us at an Open House where you can tour our Pontiac office and hear firsthand from clients how our programs are building brighter futures! The tour will be held 7-8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26 at our Pontiac office, 114 Orchard Lake Road.
“This is a great way to network with other supporters and get an inside look at what we do,” said Kristin Benton, director of Development at Oakland Family Services. “We’re an organization that has been serving the community for 99 years, and a lot of people are surprised by the array of services we offer. This Open House is a fun way to get to know a longtime community organization.”
As part of a small group, you will be escorted by Oakland Family Services staff to five areas of the agency to learn about different programs. During the 20-25 minute walking tour, guests will visit the Children’s Learning Center, Specialized Services for Youth, Early Childhood, Foster Care and Adoption, and Project Recovery Intensive Services for Women (PRISM), an intensive substance use disorder program focused on the unique needs of mothers in recovery.
During each stop, a client and staff member will talk about how that specific program is making a difference in the lives of the clients we serve. You will not be asked for financial support at this event.
“At our Open House, we want to show appreciation for those who have supported our work and programs,” Benton said. “We also want to introduce new people to our mission and give them the opportunity to meet the staff who are using their skills and expertise to help individuals and families transform their lives.”
During the Open House, heavy hors d’oeuvres and cocktails will be served. The event also will feature a short program with comments by Oakland Family Services President and CEO Jaimie Clayton, Board Chairman Betsy Meter, and a client who has experienced firsthand the benefits of the agency’s programs.
Don’t forget to mark the Open House on your calendar! You are welcome to bring a guest. Please RSVP to Kathleen Mallett at (248) 858-7766 ext. 1258 or kmallett@ofsfamily.org.
