Tasty Tuesday: Preschoolers show how they are eating healthy during the coronavirus pandemic
As part of the Week of the Young Child’s Tasty Tuesday, Oakland Family Services asked its Children’s Learning Center families to send photos of their preschoolers eating healthy foods while home during the coronavirus pandemic. We also provided families nutritious, kid friendly resources to try at home!
Children learn as they explore food and cooking. Simple tasks like counting eggs develops math skills, reading recipes introduces new words and improves literacy skills, and making predictions builds on science skills. Cooking also is a great way for preschoolers to strengthen their small muscles by doing such tasks as stirring pancake batter or placing pepperoni on pizza!
