Oakland Family Services celebrates 100 years of building brighter futures

2021 will be a monumental year for Oakland Family Services as it celebrates 100 years of building brighter futures for individuals and families in our community!

The agency was founded in 1921 as the Michigan Children’s Aid Society Oakland Branch to serve children without homes. After several name changes and mergers, the agency’s name officially changed to Oakland Family Services in 1984.

Since 1921, Oakland Family Services has recognized that sometimes families face challenges they cannot resolve on their own and we remain committed to providing a wealth of prevention, education and treatment programs for individuals and families in our community.

Check out this video to get a glimpse of our history and learn how we build brighter futures for those we serve in our community.
